Speaking truth to power. End American imperialism. Anti-war and 9/11 truth candidate. End U.S. militarism, restrict the military to territorial non-offensive defense, prosecute American war criminals, establish a National Truth Commission to publicly expose the crimes of the U.S. government, restore civil liberties at home and respect human rights abroad, establish a legitimate election process using proportional representation voting systems, end corporate welfare, initiate a powerdown strategy for an ecologically sustainable steady-state economy, and implement a single payer national health insurance program.

Atheist, humanist. The two books that best embody my beliefs about religion are "Ethics Without God" by Kai Nielsen and "Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist", by Dan Barker. The book "Ethics Without God" explains why it is logically impossible to base values on power or authority. "Losing Faith in Faith" is the story of a former fundamentalist Christian minister. It is a humorous, well-reasoned account which debunks Christian mythology.

I am running as a Green Party candidate to express my opposition to American imperialism and advocate political reform to create a sustainable and just society.

End all foreign military intervention by the U.S. military. Stop all wars that the United States is currently waging against other nations, close overseas military bases, and withdraw U.S. troops, restricting them to non-offensive territorial defense of the United States. Prosecute American war criminals and the criminals responsible for orchestrating the 9/11 false flag operation.

I want to achieve a revolution in moral values. A reporter once asked Mohandas Gandhi what he thought of western civilization. Gandhi replied that he thought "It would be a very good idea." I agree. Western civilization would be an excellent goal to achieve.
Global security: End U.S. militarism, respect human rights, protect civil liberties, stop American genocide and fascism, restrict the military to non-offensive defense, prosecute American war criminals.
Environment: create an environmentally sustainable economy.
Health Care: implement a single payer universal health insurance system.
I oppose the racist scapegoating of immigrants. We must address the real causes of high immigration levels: an unsustainable, high consumption lifestyle in the United States; globalist economic policies that exploit Third World nations for the benefit of transnational corporations; and labor policies designed to drive down wages. We must reform international trade policies to protect labor, human rights, and the environment. Fair trade should promote local self-reliance, not foreign corporate domination. Permanent border passes should be granted to citizens of Mexico and Canada. It should be easy to get work permits that are not tied to a specific employer.

I support a reasonable pathway to citizenship.

This is the modern equivalent of indentured servitude. I oppose the program.
We should demilitarize the borders.
I understand that is already a $25 late fee for missing a VISA card payment, and your interest rate can also be jacked up dramatically.
I oppose this.
It depends upon where you want to deport me to.
I support reasonable opportunities for undocumented resident aliens to apply for citizenship.
Currently, I do not have sufficient financial resources available to deport myself. I would need to be able to obtain legal, gainful employment overseas before I could seriously consider living in another country. The "love it or leave it" argument is idiotic. Nevertheless, I would like to expatriate some day a country that is more sane than the United States. If someone were to offer me gainful employment in Western Europe, South America, or New Zealand, I would be happy to consider the offer.
I oppose the real ID act.
I absolutely oppose this.
It should be easy to apply for legal employment.
I oppose the practice of recruiting foreign mercenaries to participate in American war crimes.
No. I oppose racism and bigotry.

Extraterrestrials should not be forced to work in mines.
The Homeland Security Act must be repealed. The various agencies that have been joined together under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security should be separated again, or in some cases, abolished. I advocate abolition of the FBI, NSA, IRS, ATF, and the Selective Service System.
The concept of "Homeland Security" was taken straight from Nazi Germany by American fascists as part of their plan for transforming the United States from a republic into a fascist state.
The number one threat to American national security today is the American national security establishment. "People should not be afraid of their government. The government should be afraid of its people."
End it now! Prosecute NSA officials for their crimes against the people of the United States. Abolish the NSA.
"Al-Qaeda" was originally the file name of a database of terrorists who were recruited, armed, trained, and financed by the CIA. See below, full text at www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/article.asp?ID=3836
Al Qaeda -- The Database
Wayne Madsen Report -- 11/18/05
Shortly before his untimely death, former British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook told the House of Commons that "Al Qaeda" is not really a terrorist group but a database of international mujaheddin and arms smugglers used by the CIA and Saudis to funnel guerrillas, arms, and money into Soviet-occupied Afghanistan....
"[According to a Pakistani major] the database was divided into two parts, the information file where the participants in the meetings could pick up and send information they needed,
The best way to protect our freedom is to respect civil liberties and the rule of constitutional law. The United States today is in the grip of political fascism. This has become an authoritarian police state. We need to vastly reduce the power and authority of the president, the military, the FBI, the NSA, and the police. The role of the armed forces must be strictly limited to defense, and the military budget should be cut by at least 90% immediately. A non-offensive defense system could include a military component, but it should also include training of civilians in tactics of nonviolent resistance and noncooperation (social defense). The United States has the heaviest concentration of guns in the hands of private citizens. "Second Amendment Defense" can be part of a total non-offensive defense strategy. The biggest threat to our security is our own government. Americans must be prepared to defend their nation against their government.
I support prosecution of George W. Bush, the NSA officials, and telecommunications corporation who carried out a program of illegal warrantless wiretapping surveillance on U.S. citizens as a part of the fake "war on terrorism." Constitutional law and protection of civil liberties must be restored to the United States.
I adamantly oppose amnesty for telecommunications corporations that have engaged in illegal wiretapping surveillance.
The real purpose of the 9/11 Commission was to cover up the truth about what really happened on 9/11. The report they produced was a falsification of history. Read David Ray Griffin's book: "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions." It thoroughly debunks the commission's account of events. Also see Griffin's more recent book: "Debunking 9/11 Debunking." A more readily accessible resource is the website www.911truth.org
The 9/11 Commission was created under pressure from victims' families after President Bush blocked a Congressional inquiry for 441 days. Bush initially appointed war criminal Henry Kissinger to chair the commission. Senator Max Cleland, the only commission member without serious conflicts of interest, resigned and
A radical is someone who goes to the "root" of a problem. A radical is "a person who advocates fundamental political, social, and economic reforms." I am a radical.
Fundamentalism traditionally refers to movement in Christian Protestantism which "stresses the infallibility of the Bible not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historic record." Fundamentalism can also refer to strict adherence to any set of basic ideas and principles.
I am an atheist. I understand that religious fundamentalism is nonsense. However, people do have a fundamental right to frredom of thought, religion and philosophy, speech, and conscience.
I support the separation of church and state and the first amendment right to freedom of speech and
Abolish weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.
Dick Cheney and other people who became top Bush Administration officials were involved in the Project for a New American Century (PNAC). Their September, 2000 report "Rebuilding America's Defenses" said that: "advanced forms of biological warfare that can target specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool." In 1996, Dr. Vivienne Nathanson, the British Medical Association's Head of Science and Ethics reported to a conference of the World Medical Association that ethnically targeted genetic weapons are now possible.
Genetic weapons would use small variations in DNA that distinguish individuals
The United States government must not be allowed to manufacture, stockpile, or use biological weapons. Anyone who is involved in the development of genetically targeted biological weapons should be prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity.
Repeal the Homeland Security Act. Abolish the Department of Homeland Security and either return its constituent agencies to independent authority, or in some cases abolish them. The so-called "war on terrorism" is a fraud, providing a false pretext for transforming our society into a fascist state.
The National Guard should be used for defense and disaster relief, not for genocide or suppression of dissent.
Military intelligence is an oxymoron. The CIA is a criminal, terrorist organization that must be abolished. The NSA is also a criminal organization that must be abolished.
The FBI has become a police state agency. Its COINTELPRO program must be shut down. I believe the FBI itself should also be shut down. Fundamental reform would be needed for the FBI to ever become a legitimate law enforcement agency.
The color coded warning system is a transparent load of crap. Get rid of it. The purpose of this system is to make the people afraid and convince them that they need heavy-handed government security measures to protect them from an imaginary external threat.
"Home Run" remote control technology was developed in the 1970s. This technology was designed to make it impossible to hijack airliners. However, this technology was most likely used by rogue intelligence operatives on 9/11/01 to remotely pilot three Boeing aircraft into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Properly used remote control technology under the civilian authority of the FAA could be used to prevent future hijackings.
The men the FBI identified as piloting hijacked airplanes on 9/11 were described by their flight instructors as incompetent to fly crop dusters. None of them had ever flown a jet. BBC reported that several of the 19 alleged hijackers were still alive after 9/11. No airport video or other credible evidence placed
There is no "war on terror." The United States government is the number one purveyor of terrorism throughout the world. As historian Michael Parenti has documented: "From 1945 to 2000, the U.S. government attempted to overthrow more than 40 foreign governments, and to crush more than 30 populist movements struggling against oppressive regimes. Recent decades have been marked by the U.S. waging devastatingly one-sided wars against small, weak, impoverished nations while filling the media with propaganda designed to inflame war fever."
The U.S. has supported death squads and dictatorships in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, Indonesia and many other nations. The people of Panama, Haiti, Laos, Angola, Mozambique and Yugoslavia
The Patriot Act must be repealed. I oppose the fake "War on Terror" and the authoritarian policies that have been enacted or proposed in its name.
My assessment is that there is very little national intelligence.
The political prison and military base at Guantanamo Bay must be shut down. The political prisoners at Guantanamo Bay were kidnapped, imprisoned, and tortured illegally in an illegal war. The people responsible for these acts are war criminals who must be prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced appropriately for their crimes. The United States should not be allowed to have military bases in foreign countries.
The rights of prisoners of war are protected by the Geneva Convention. Period. The U.S. military conquests of Iraq and Afghanistan are acts of genocide, not war.
Torture is a crime against humanity. U.S. military and political leaders are terrorists.
The local YMCA has foam water boards that can be used as floatation devices. They can be very helpful in teaching children how to swim. Generally, they are known as kickboards, not waterboards.
How can you possibly have trials of people who have been illegally kidnapped and imprisoned by people who are engaged in an illegal war? It's patently absurd. We need to establish a government that respects the rule of law. The government must follow due process of law, both at home and in foreign affairs.
The constitutional guaranteed right to habeas corpus was suspended by the Bush Administration. It must be restored.
Sure. Marriage is a voluntary social contract between consenting adults.
I oppose discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
I don't know. Why should that be a public policy question?
Wouldn't that be child pornography? Or do you just mean having children around gay couples? There's nothing wrong with that.
Marriage is a decision for the individuals involved. Governments should respect the legal rights of those consenting adults who choose to marry.
I'm morally opposed to the U.S. military.
The United States has built the most powerful, most extensive empire in history, with contempt for freedom, human rights and international law. The real mission of the U.S. military and the CIA is to establish and protect right-wing client states around the world, serving the economic interests of transnational corporations, often sponsoring proxy wars and mercenary forces to oppress the populations of Third World nations.
A reporter once asked Mohandas Gandhi what he thought of western civilization. Gandhi replied: "I think it would be a very good idea." I agree.
It is time to end the American war against humanity. We need a revolution to create a society in which Americans respect the value of human life, including the lives of non-Americans.
End foreign military aid. Stop international arms sales. Use humanitarian foreign aid to feed people, provide health care and disaster relief, and to help other nations develop environmentally sustainable economies.
No nation should be allowed to possess weapons of mass destruction. The United States has no standing to complain about WMDs in other countries unless it first eliminates its own WMDs.
End the U.S. war in Columbia.
The United States must comply with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by abolishing its nuclear weapons.
The United States does not export democracy. It subverts and destroys democracy. The "National Endowment for Democracy" is a front group for the CIA whose mission is to undermine and disrupt elections in other countries. Funding for the NED must be eliminated.
The United States has been responsible for the mass murder of millions of people in dozens of countries over the past six decades. It might help to improve the image of the United States abroad if the United States stopped committing the mass murder of people in other countries, stopped supporting dictatorships and terrorists, apologized for its crimes against humanity, and prosecuted those responsible.
Abolish the CIA
The headquarters of the United Nations should be moved to a third world country, possibly Venezuela. No nation should have veto power and no nation should have a permanent seat on the Security Council. Ideally, the members of the United Nations should be democratically elected by proportional representation rather than being appointed by national governments as their representatives.
I support the creation of permanent international war crimes tribunal. The United States must abide by international law.
NATO attacked Yugoslavia without the consent of any of its own parliaments, violating the NATO treaty, Article One of the U.S. Constitution, the United Nations Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and the Nuremberg Principles.
A complaint filed by international human rights lawyers charging 67 NATO leaders with war crimes is reprinted at www.balkanpeace.org. The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, which is financed almost entirely by the United States, refused to consider these charges.
The United States must honor its treaties whenever possible, and try to renegotiate those historic treaties that cannot be honored.
The United States should normalize relations with Cuba, end the trade embargo, and permit U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba. The United States must stop sponsoring coup attempts against the democratically elected government of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.
U.S. led NATO forces bombed civilian targets in Serbia and Kosovo for 78 days in 1999.
The U.S. sought to dismember Yugoslavia and privatize its state-run industries and financial sector. The 1991 Foreign Operations Appropriations Act mandated that Yugoslavian provinces would lose U.S. financing unless they seceded. The U.S. funded separatist movements in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Kosovo, backing fascist elements in a strategy of divide and conquer.
Bill Clinton labeled Milosevic "a new Hitler," but supported Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic (a World War II Nazi war criminal) and Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, whose book, Wastelands of Historical Truth, praised Hitler and advocated genocide.
The Kosovo Liberation Army

Quotation: "The cheap oil age created an artificial bubble of plenitude for a period not much longer than a human lifetime, a hundred years. So, I hazard to assert that as oil ceases to be cheap and the world reserves are toward depletion, we will indeed suddenly be left with an enormous surplus population that the ecology of the earth will not support. No political program of birth control will avail. The people are already here. The journey back to non-oil population homeostasis will not be pretty. We will discover the hard way that population hypergrowth was simply a side effect of the oil age. It was a condition, not a problem with a solution. That is what happened and we are stuck with it."
-- James Howard Kunstler, The Long Emergency (2005)
The United States has surrendered the power to create currency to a private bank. That power should be taken back and restored to the U.S. Treasury. The Federal Reserve should have no authority over monetary policy.
Overpopulation is the most critical problem facing the world today. Birth rates and consumption both need to be reduced, so inevitably, a higher proportion of the population will shift into older age groups.
The 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was never legally ratified. There is no law requiring Americans to pay a federal income tax on their labor. The federal income tax should be abolished and replaced with a national "fair tax" (progressive national sales tax).
About 48 percent of the federal income tax revenue is now budgeted for past and present military costs plus the military portion of the national debt. This accounts for $1,398 billion in Fiscal Year 2011, including $721 billion for the misnamed "Department of Defense," $155 billion for the military portions of other departments, $123 billion for veterans benefits, and $399 billion for interest on the military portion of the national debt. See www.warresisters.org for details.
I support replacing the federal income tax with a national sales tax.
Abolish the IRS.
I oppose the military recruitment provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act.
I support age appropriate education about human sexuality, birth control, family planning and the seriousness of the overpopulation crisis.
Evolution is a scientific fact that should be taught in public schools. Creationism is myth.
I would support age appropriate education.
I support separation of church and state. Religious indoctrination has no place in public education. There can be an appropriate role for comparative study of world religious beliefs, philosophy, atheism, humanism and other ethical systems as a part of cultural studies.
I strongly oppose political indoctrination such as the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools. I have refused to recite the Pledge of Allegiance since I was in the sixth grade.
Public funding should not be used for religious indoctrination. I see no problem with public funding for private, non-religious education.
I support school choice options within the public school system and for private, non-religious education.
There are many serious barriers to having legitimate elections in the United States:
Massive vote fraud has corrupted at least the last two U.S. presidential elections.
The winner-take-all voting system effectively shuts out any candidates who don't represent the status quo. Legitimate elections require the adoption of proportional representative voting systems for legislative and council elections and instant run-off voting or parliamentary government for single occupant offices.
Campaign financing corrupts the political process. Without campaign spending caps or a fair system of public campaign financing, establishment candidates are essentially bought and paid for by corporate lobbyists. Perhaps candidates should be required to wear race
No thank you.
I like chai. The Tea Party movement is a fascist, reactionary distraction from reality. It is not a real political party but an extremist faction of the already extremist Republican Party. The media has given an absurd amount of coverage to the imaginary "Tea Party" while ignoring real political parties that represent genuine reform.
Stop the U.S. government's political interference in foreign elections, including the funding of political parties and candidates. Eliminate public funding for the CIA's political front organization, the "National Endowment for Democracy."
Abolish the U.S. Senate. Elect the U.S. House of Representatives by a national system of open party list proportional representation, using a single transferable vote ballot and regional party lists.
Support a national initiative and referendum process, public campaign financing, campaign spending limits, equal time for qualified candidates, open debates including ballot-qualified minor party candidates and verifiable ballots.
The campaign finance reform proposals I've seen would accomplish little or nothing. We need to reduce the amount of campaign spending and open up the election system to meaningful competition from independent and minor party candidates.
I would support a fair system of public campaign financing.
Eliminate gerrymandering by eliminating single member districts for legislative and council elections. Elect candidates for multi-member bopdies by proportional representation.
Open party list system of proportional representation using a single transferable vote.
Verifiable paper ballots are needed.
The people of the District of Columbia should have voting representation in both house of Congress either through statehood or by having the district included in the state of Maryland.
Prohibit farmed animal grazing, logging, mining and oil drilling on public lands. Support a public lands use strategy of conservation, not industrial tourism. Preserve roadless areas.
Support the dismantlement of the animal agriculture industry. Apply animal cruelty laws to farmed animals, ban veal crates, wire chicken cages and cannibalistic feeding practices. Eliminate public subsidies for animal agriculture.
The U.S. military should be strictly limited to non-offensive territorial defense of the United States. All foreign military bases should be closed and all U.S. troops should be brought home to this country. The United States government should be permanently banned from participating in any foreign wars. All foreign military aid and international arms sales should be prohibited. Nuclear, biological and chemical weapons must be abolished. Depleted uranium weapons, land mines, fuel air explosives, cluster bombs, and other "conventional" weapons that are indiscriminate or are weapons of mass destruction should be abolished. Military service must be voluntary. The president of the United States has no legal authority to commit U.S. troops to combat
The biggest threat to our national security is our national security establishment. I support a social defense program training citizens in tactics of nonviolent resistance and noncooperation as part of a non-offensive defense system to protect our society not only against the possibility of outside threats, but also against the much more serious threat of government tyranny at home. An armed citizenry can also provide a "Second Amendment Defense" component of a non-offensive defense system.
The U.S. military budget for Fiscal Year 2009 includes $965 billion for current military spending, and $484 billion for past military spending, including the military portion of interest on the national debt. Together, this is a total of $1,449 billion for the military budget, or 54 percent of current federal income tax funds. The Department of Defense budget is $653 billion. An estimated $200 billion more funding for the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan is not included in the official DoD budget. Other military expenditures are dispersed amongst other departments, including Homeland Security, the Department of Energy, State Department, and NASA.(See www.warresisters.org/pages/piechart.htm for details.) The United States spends as much on current military expenditures as the countries with the next 15 highest military budgets combined. Twelve of those countries are U.S. allies. The current U.S. military budget should be cut by at least 90 percent immediately.
If they didn't feel so inadequate, why do they feel the need to build so many big missiles? And why do they feel so insecure about allowing gay people to join the military?
Abolish cluster bombs.
Cut the military budget by at last 90 percent.
Conscription is slavery, prohibited by the Thirteenth Amendment. The Selective Service System and registration for the draft must be abolished.
Close all military bases outside of the United States.
I oppose discrimination of the basis of sexual orientation.
Restore U.S. adherence to the ABM treaty.
End U.S. aid to Israel. Support democratic self-determination and respect for the human rights of both Palestinians and Israelis.
Support the right to self-determination and human rights for all concerned.
CIA intervention in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1999 created a war that destroyed President Taraki's reformist government, induced Soviet intervention, killed more than a million Afghans, and trained an army of terrorists, including CIA operative Osama bin Laden. The history of this intervention is explained in the books "The Terrorism Trap: September 11 and Beyond" by political analyst Michael Parenti and "Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower" by investigative journalist William Blum.
On July 3, 1979, President Carter instructed the CIA to provide military aid to Islamic fundamentalist terrorists in Afghanistan to overthrow the moderate socialist government.
The U.S. provided military aid to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the head of the
The United States should withdraw all of its troops from Pakistan, withdraw its support from the government of Pakistan, and stop interfering in their internal politics. Pakistan's ISI security agency is a creation of the CIA that has been used for funneling money and weapons to mercenary terrorists. U.S. funding for the ISI must be cut off.
I support an international investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
Iraq's alleged failure to disarm its weapons of mass destruction was a false pretext for George W. Bush's conquest of Iraq. Bush wanted to install a new puppet regime that would serve the economic interests of transnational corporations.
The American war against Iraq that began in 1990-91 was not motivated by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. On July 25, 1990, Saddam Hussein asked April Glaspie, the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, if the U.S. had a position on Iraq's longstanding claim to Kuwait. She replied: "We have no opinion on Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait." Glaspie assured Hussein that the U.S. would not intervene militarily if Iraq invaded Kuwait. Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 1.
The first Bush Administration accused
Withdraw all U.S. troops immediately.
The United States must withdraw all of its troops from Afghanistan immediately.
The American conquest of Afghanistan was planned before the September 11th attacks. The original purpose of the planned U.S. conquest of Afghanistan was to secure the construction of an oil pipeline that was proposed by UNOCAL. The Guardian reported: "In 1998, Dick Cheney, now US vice-president but then chief executive of a major oil services company, remarked: 'I cannot think of a time when we have had a region emerge as suddenly to become as strategically significant as the Caspian. But the oil and gas there is worthless until it is moved. The only route which makes both political and economic sense is through Afghanistan.'"
The Bush Administration told the Taliban
The Soviets left Afghanistan in February 1989. The PDP government fought CIA mercenaries until it fell in 1992. When the mujahideen took over, they fought among themselves. They ravaged Afghanistan, conducted mass executions, closed schools, and raped thousands of women and girls. Amnesty International reported that they used rape as "a method of intimidating vanquished populations and rewarding soldiers." The CIA-backed mujahideen ordered farmers to grow opium poppy. Arundhati Roy reported in The Guardian that "within two years of the CIA's arrival, the Pakistan-Afghanistan borderland had become the biggest producer of heroin in the world, and the single biggest source of the heroin on American streets."
Many of the CIA mercenaries graduated
During the George H.W. Bush and Clinton Administrations, the United States and its coalition partners were responsible for the murder of somewhere between two to three million people in Iraq through the combined effects of military attacks, systematic destruction of Iraq's infrastructure, blockade, invasion and occupation. Prior to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, Saddam had been a key U.S. ally. Saddam's party was installed in power through a CIA-sponsored military coup. The U.S. government armed and supported Saddam Hussein's brutal dictatorship until 1989, providing many of the raw materials and plans for Iraq's biological and chemical weapons programs. The current administration has been responsible for the murder of more than 1.2 million more
The United States owes reparations to the people of Iraq. There is no way that the U.S. can ever undo the harm that it has done.
Stop funding mercenaries.
Funding for the American genocide against the people of Iraq must be cut off immediately.
The people of Iraq should determine their own affairs without interference from the United States government.
Desperate -- but isn't that what Americans wanted?
End all U.S. military deployments outside of U.S. territory immediately.
Any continued U.S. military presence in Iraq is absolutely unacceptable.
Eighteen years ago.
There is no excuse for the American genocide against the people of Iraq.
There is no "war on terror." It is a delusion created to keep Americans in fear and to create a false pretext for U.S. military and economic world domination.
Some people fought back against American invaders.
The "job" is genocide. The "job" is seizing control of Iraq's oil resources. Those who carry out this job are war criminals and they deserve the death penalty.
You must be joking, right?
In 1953, the CIA and British intelligence carried out a military coup against the democratically elected government of Iran in order to seize control of the nation's oil supply. Today, history is about to repeat itself as the U.S. positions itself to take over Iran again in another grab for their oil.
In 1953, the U.S. installed the brutal, fascist dictatorship of the Shah in Iran, sponsoring his repressive SAVAK security forces until the 1979 revolution. Then the United States encouraged Iraq to start the bloody Iran-Iraq War, which devastated both nations. The United States provided weapons to both sides to keep the conflict going.
It is not at all clear that Iran is pursuing weapons of mass destruction. It is very clear that the United States government is planning to attack Iran and take control of its oil supply.
I oppose any military attack or invasion against Iran. The United States has been posturing to attack Iran in order to create a false pretext for its planned military conquest of the country to seize control of its oil supply in the wake of the peak of global oil production.
How about some economic sanctions against the United States? The United States is trying to establish a global fascist dictatorship under its control.
I have mixed feelings about the gun issue. I am neither pro-gun nor pro-gun control. I don't like guns. I have never owned or fired a gun. I think there a lot of bad arguments that have been used on both sides of the gun issue. However, the Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights. I believe most gun control laws are unconstitutional. Moreover, I am more concerned about getting guns out of the hands of the government than I am concerned about getting them out of the hands of private citizens. There is at least a theoretically valid argument for the Second Amendment as a citizen defense against government tyranny.
If I were an elected official, I would probably vote with the NRA most of the time, but I would not be carrying legislation for them, and I probably wouldn't be going out for dinner and drinks with their lobbyists.
Yes, it's protected by the Second Amendment.
I'm not the NRA.
I have attended gun shows to petition for non-partisan ballot issues on election reform issues.
Support fair trade policies and local self-reliance.
Oppose globalization policies.
Spam, eggs, bacon, Spam and Spam.
Kill your television.
The imperialists created it. Let them pay it off.
This should not require a Constitutional amendment. If you can't get elected officials to balance a budget, how can you get them to pass a Constitutional amendment requiring them to balance a budget?
I support a single payer universal health insurance program.
I oppose this corporate wealthcare policy.
Health insurance should not be tied to employment.
Row versus wade? It depends. How deep is the water? If I don't have a canoe, then the question is moot anyway.
Yes. I am pro-life and pro-choice. I am pro-life because I oppose war, genocide, and militarism in general. I support universal health care and environmental responsibility. I am pro-choice on the abortion issue. I think it's absurd that people who are pro-gun, pro-war, pro-genocide, pro-military, pro-death penalty, anti-environment, and opposed to national health insurance call themselves pro-life because they oppose abortion.
I support the right to abortion. This should not be an issue.
This should not be a public policy issue.
Life is continuous. Eggs and sperm are alive. So are embryos. None of them have a "right to life." Life forms must have an independent existence in order to have a "right to life." Eggs, sperms, and embryos only exist within the host's body. The anti-abortion position is silly. Let's get past this nonsense and focus on things that are truly important.
I oppose criminalizing abortion.
This is very important. I support public funding for contraceptives and family planning services as part of a national health insurance system.
I support legal access to the morning after pill and public financing for it under a national health insurance system.
I support public funding for abortion under a national health insurance program.
I am not familiar with this.
It should remain legal.
Send in the clones.
"I Think I'm A Clone Now"
by Weird Al Yankovic
Isn't it strange
Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror
What would people say
If only they knew that I was
Part of some geneticist's plan (plan-plan-plan)
Born to be a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
There in a petri dish late one night
They took a donor's body cell and fertilized a human egg and so I say
I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
Look at the way
We go out walking close together
I guess you could say
I'm really beside myself
I still remember how it began (gan-gan-gan)
They produced a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
Born in a science lab late one night
Without a mother or a father, just a
I'm a Thought Criminal.
I am generally opposed to imprisoning people for victimless crimes. People should not be jailed for using or possessing drugs. The drug trafficking issue is a bit more complicated.
I support the death penalty as a punishment for crimes of state including war crimes, acts of terrorism, and other crimes against humanity. I oppose imposition of the death penalty by the state against private citizens who commit acts that are not crimes of state.
A "Justice Department" would be a very good idea.
I oppose term limits for elected officials. They should be required to serve the full prison terms that are appropriate for the crimes they have committed while in public office.
I don't think it's a very good idea to base criminal justice guidelines on baseball analogies.
Ex-felons should have the right to vote.
"Take away the right to say "FUCK" and you take away the right to say "FUCK THE GOVERNMENT."
-- Lenny Bruce
Only civil libertarians should be appointed as Supreme Court Justices. The courts must respect the rule of Constitutional law and individual rights. This "conservative/liberal balance" issue is a cockeyed way of looking at the situation. Abortion should not be a public policy issue.
To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-ridden, regulated, penned up, indoctrinated, preached at, checked, appraised, seized, censured, commanded by beings who have neither title, knowledge nor virtue." -- Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, French radical
It's difficult to reform an organized crime syndicate.
Department of Redundancy Department
States don't have rights. People have rights.
This piercing fad is getting out of hand.
No. At a minimum, American presidents should be sentenced to life terms in prison with no possibility of parole.
I oppose term limits for members of Congress. They should be required to serve the full length of the prison terms that are appropriate for the crimes that they commit while in office.
The flooding of New Orleans would probably not have occurred if the Bush Administration hadn't diverted funding mandated for levy repair under the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project to spend it instead on the U.S. military conquest and occupation of Iraq and on Homeland Security projects in Wyoming and Oregon.
Despite President Bush's assertion that nobody could have "anticipated the breach of [New Orleans] levees," it had been anticipated by a major Scientific American study, "Drowning New Orleans," in October 2001, by a National Geographic study in October 2004, and by an extensive analysis published by the New Orleans Times-Picayune in June, 2002.
FEMA had a disaster plan for a major hurricane hitting New Orleans, but did not
I support a single-payer Medicare for all national health insurance policy that is not tied to employment.
Remove genocidal sociopaths from public office.
This Texas state capitol has a lively music scene.
The real motive behind 9/11 was to create a false pretext for a previously planned series of military conquests to seize control of the world's major remaining fossil fuel reserves in the face of the peak of global oil production. The underlying issue behind peak oil is overpopulation -- the unsustainability of the world's current human population. The current human population of the Earth is about 6.7 billion people. At current growth rates, that population is projected to increase to 9 billion by 2050. However, the estimated sustainable human carrying capacity of the Earth is somewhere between one to two billion people. A temporary abundance of cheap fossil fuels (primarily petroleum) has enabled the human race to greatly exceed its sustainable
Create a livable wage.
Everybody comes from one.
Some are good. Some are bad. What does the word "family" add to the word "values?" The term "family values" is typically used by the religious right, but there are no family values in the Bible.
God, I sure hope I pass this test. Prayer should not be a part of the public school curriculum.
American values would be a very good idea.
A person needs a god like a fish needs a bicycle.
Freedom, justice, nonviolence, ecology, compassion.
Personal choice. The state should not play a role in this.
I strongly oppose the racism and bigotry of fascists who have made the construction of an Islamic cultural center into a political issue. I support the freedom of religion established by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. This bogus issue is based on the false belief that Muslim terrorists were responsible for the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. This attack was carried out by the US government against its own people.
I support the First Amendment.
I support the separation of church and state.
Everyone has the right to be wrong, so long as they don't persecute others for having different beliefs.
I'm an atheist.
Polygamy's cool as long as it is a voluntary agreement between consenting adults. The traditional Mormon practice of polygamy was a patriarchal institution. Mormon Church doctrine now prohibits polygamy. I oppose arrangements that exploit underage individuals or use coercion.
This is not a public policy issue. It is an issue to be decided by the members of a given religious denomination.
Evolution is fact. Intelligent design is neither intelligent nor design.
Religious activities should not be publicly funded.
Vasectomy prevents abortion.
Promote birth control, family planning programs, and public education about the seriousness of the overpopulation crisis. The Earth cannot sustain anywhere near its current human population, nor can it sustain the high ecological impact of the current American lifestyle.
I can't stand people who are intolerant of others.
Turn off Fox News.
Violence is bad. Sex is good.
Playboy Magazine really does have some good articles in it.
I don't follow such things in the media.
I was kicked out of the Cub Scouts for eating a Brownie.
No, you can't have my civil rights. I'm still using them.
Repeal the anti-Constitutional "Patriot Act."
Abolish the NSA. End illegal surveillance programs. Prosecute those responsible for illegal warrantless wiretapping surveillance programs.
Treaties should be upheld wherever feasible. Otherwise they should be renegotiated.
Legalize marijuana. Decriminalize possession of small quantities of other drugs for personal use. Focus drug control efforts on prosecuting traffickers of hard drugs and financiers involved in laundering drug money. Crack down on drug-related political corruption. The war on drugs is a fraud, not a failure. The CIA and U.S. backed narco-terrorists have historically held controlling interests in the heroin and cocaine trades.
End the fraudulent "war on drugs."
Decriminalize possession of drugs for personal use. Focus enforcement on traffickers of hard drugs.
This should not be a public policy issue. It is an issue for athletic associations.
Voluntary, nonviolent public service is wonderful. Mandatory public service is slavery, prohibited by the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
It's big. I mean really big. So vastly, enormously big, you can't even wrap your mind around it.
About ten billion animals are slaughtered for food each year in the United States. Factory farming means intense crowding of animals in cages or stalls with unsanitary conditions, methodical mutilation, and total disruption of natural behavior of animals who are pumped full of hormones, antibiotics and drugs. Cattle, pigs, chickens, and goats are not the property of humans.
According to the Vegetarian Society of Colorado (www.vsc.org/), livestock agriculture is the leading cause of water pollution, dumping billions of tons of manure into the U.S. water supply each year. This industry uses more than half the land area of the United States and hundreds of billions of gallons of water every day. The U.S. uses more than twice as much energy per
I like beer.
I don't like tobacco.
The modern industrial world economy is not sustainable. We have passed the limits to growth. There are too many people in the world today consuming and wasting too much for the Earth to support. This problem is most severe in the United States. The United States has the second highest per capita ecological footprint (impact) of any nation (9.4 hectares per person). According to the World Wildlife Foundation's "Living Planet Report, 2008" the US has an ecological footprint about twice its carrying capacity. About 5% of the world's population lives in the United States, but the US accounts for 25% of global consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The "American way of life" that George H.W. Bush said is "not negotiable" is made possible by extracting
I oppose corporate welfare bailouts that transfer wealth from the poor to the rich while generating trillions of dollars in debt.
Re-regulate the banking industry.
Collapse of the existing economy is inevitable. We must restructure our way of life to survive the coming transition.
It is time to end American imperialism and replace it with a steady-state (sustainable) economy.
