Guns	Positions and Views
Guns, a General Statement	I have mixed feelings about the gun issue. I am neither pro-gun nor pro-gun control. I don't like guns. I have never owned or fired a gun. I think there a lot of bad arguments that have been used on both sides of the gun issue. However, the Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights. I believe most gun control laws are unconstitutional. Moreover, I am more concerned about getting guns out of the hands of the government than I am concerned about getting them out of the hands of private citizens. There is at least a theoretically valid argument for the Second Amendment as a citizen defense against government tyranny. If I were an elected official, I would probably vote with the NRA most of the time, but I would not be carrying legislation for them, and I probably wouldn't be going out for dinner and drinks with their lobbyists.
