Civil Rights, a General Statement Tancredo: No Response
Human Rights Tancredo: Protecting Human Rights Worldwide The United States is a country rooted in the protection of freedom and equality among our citizens. Throughout our history, people from all over the world have sought refuge in this country because it provided a safe haven for the expression of free ideas without persecution or reprisal. These are ideals we as a country have chosen to nourish. Likewise, we have sought to speak out and fight for those who are witness to repression in non-democratic regimes worldwide. As a Member of the House International Relations Committee and its Subcommittee on International Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Human Rights, I have been extremely vocal on the issue of human rights, not only within the committee, but also as a rising champion of human rights in Congress as a whole. Further Efforts in the Fight for Freedom Sudan is not the only country across the globe that has been plagued by years and years of human rights abuses. I am extremely concerned about the human rights abuses all over the world and will continue to focus a great deal of my efforts to fight against these abuses, especially in countriessuch as China, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and East Timor. People all over the world deserve the same freedoms and rights that we enjoy every day in the United States, and Congress should do its best to extend these freedoms across the globe.
